ART was co-founded by Dr. David Frisbie, a veterinarian and associate professor, along with assistant professor John Kisiday, both researchers at Colorado State University at the Gail Holmes Equine Orthopaedic Research Center. Colorado State University’s Orthopedic Research Center is a pioneer in using stem cells derived from the bone marrow of adult horses to treat equine athlete joint injuries. Technology used by ART was validated at Colorado State University.
